ASICS EMEA Reports Strong Profitable Growth in 2022

[10 February 2023, The Netherlands] – ASICS EMEA today reported its 2022 financial results, with revenues increasing by 14.2%* versus 2021 and an operating income margin of 9%.

ASICS EMEA saw profitable growth across all its categories in 2022, including Performance Running, Tennis, Indoor and SportStyle. In wholesale channels, ASICS reported year-on-year growth of 15% with significant increases in Benelux (53%), France (21%), Germany (16%), Iberia (30%), Italy (36%), Sweden (14%), UK and Ireland (14%) versus 2021.

ASICS EMEA, Chief Executive Officer, Carsten Unbehaun: “Despite the challenges of global supply chain congestion in early 2022, ASICS EMEA has ended the year in a very strong position. These results are a testament to the strength of our brand, the superiority of our products and the collaboration with our partners. We remain committed to building strong relationships with our wholesale partners, and I want to thank them for their continued support.

As we look ahead, I am optimistic about 2023 despite the market circumstances. We are driving innovation across the entire business with game-changing product introductions planned throughout the year. We recently launched the GEL-NIMBUS™ 25 running shoes and have received extremely positive reviews of the most comfortable running shoes.

Lastly, I want to reinforce that at ASICS, our five letters have meaning, ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano’, which translates to a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. Our goal is to continue to support more people to achieve a Sound Mind in a Sound Body through our innovative products and services that get people moving and keep them moving.”

More top athletes chose to run in ASICS.

From Richard Ringer winning at the European Championships in METASPEED™ SKY+ shoes to Eilish McColgan, who had an incredible year competing in three major championships and winning gold and silver at the Commonwealth Games – more and more top athletes chose to run in ASICS in 2022. 

COURT FF 2 Novak voted Shoe of the Year.

For the second year in a row, COURT FF™ NOVAK, the only Tennis shoe designed with Novak Djokovic, was voted shoe of the year. Chosen by Tennis players and fans, ASICS prevailed over 27 other models in head-to-head voting. 

Iga Świątek wears ASICS during historic year.

ASICS athlete, Iga Świątek became the world’s number-one Tennis player in 2022 Świątek's successful season saw eight tournament wins, including two Grand Slam titles. She won 67 matches and registered a 37-match winning streak from February to July, the longest undefeated stretch in women's Tennis since 1990.

Sneaker brand of the year.

Influential HYPEBEAST declared ASICS the Best Footwear Brand of 2022, describing ASICS as one of the year's most fashionable and sought-after sneaker brands.

Crafts for Mind.

Through its Crafts for Mind programme, ASICS partnered with renowned brands and designers, Kassl Editions, Helen Kirkum and Cecilie Bahnsen, creating limited edition sneakers to raise funds for mental wellbeing organisations.
